There are just a few things Gavinn has done lately that I want to document (which will prove un-exciting for anyone but family and his mother several years down the road):
Letter Identification:
A few days ago we were looking at a water bottle with words on it. Gavinn got all excited and started saying "AIRPLANE!" I looked at him puzzled. He showed me. Any guesses as to the letter he found?
You guessed it- 'T'. I tried to get him to call it by it's name, but he's not interested in that yet. Airplane it is. He has been finding these "airplanes" all over the place. He's good with the letter 'A' as well, that one we actually call A.
Knock, Knock:
Driving home from the store -
Gavinn: "Knock, knock."
Chadd and I: "Who's there?"
Gavinn: "Gabinn."
Chadd and I: "Gav(b)inn who?"
Gavinn: "Gabinn awesome!"
Chadd: "Yep dude- you are awesome."
Baby Teagan:
Gavinn has been all about Baby Teagan. He knows she's in my stomach. (What "knows" means to a 2 1/2 year old I'm not sure about- but he knows there's a "something" in there.) He will bring her toys to play with and when he wants her to come play he'll call her just like you would a dog.
"Here baby Teagan" ::Kissing noise:: while trying to snap his fingers.
We are practicing the whole "Teagan is a baby like you- not a dog" thing. Details.
Today as we drove by the hospital-
"Baby Teagan!!!!!" while pointing to the hospital.
Tami: "Yep! That's where she will be born!"
"I do it!"
We are to that stage where everything and anything that needs to be done Gavinn will jump up and offer his services. You name it. Sweeping, laundry, garbage's, water bottle out of the fridge. This kid has a system. He'll open the french doors of the fridge, grab a chair from the table, and grab what it is he/we need/wants. In a way it makes meal times MUCH easier because he can get exactly what he'd like. (Or while my hands are busy he can grab me what I need.)
"My phone":
Our iPhones have become "his phone". He knows how to unlock them, find "Gavinn's" folder of games, and is entertained for long periods of time. We pulled out Chadd's old iPhone with the cracked screen, put all of "Gavinn's" games on it, and deemed it "Gavinn's phone".
(He still prefers ours. SURPRISE!)
He made dinner a few nights ago- where do you find recipes? On the phone of course!
(Someone watches his momma.)
I wish I could sneak a peak into that brain of his to see what kinds of connections he's making. It's such an exciting experience as a parent to see all these connections forming. He's talking in full sentences and is able to get across anything he needs. He is soaking in everything like a sponge!
His personality is also starting to really come out. He is going to be the class clown. He loves to make people laugh and will do just about anything to do so. I wonder where he got it from?
::AHEM- CHADD::
He is very outgoing (which warms this shy momma's heart) and easily makes friends.
I hope he continues those traits!
We are so grateful for our happy growing boy!
Cheesy grins and all.

He is adorable! I love this stage and having your own kids is just the best! Can't wait for you to experience having a girl. It is soo different, but also wonderful! Merry Christmas!
I loved that post. I miss that cute little guy. I might have to come and visit when Teagan comes!
Awesome post. I want to see him calling Teagan like a dog :) That's so funny.
And Gabinn is awesome!
that's cute your son wants to share his toys with his little baby sister. i think our son is a little afraid of his little sister. and kellen gets into fridge to get his own fruits and things. and he says "i do it" too. what a fun age!
That is so true about the iphones. We have woken up many times to Dallace sitting in the living room playing a game or watching netflix on the couch. For her birthday this year we are getting her a leappad. I'm so excited about it already I don't know how I'm going to make it till June to get it for her!
